Qingdao, July 6 (China News Service reporters Yang Bing and Hu Yaojie) The groundbreaking ceremony for the Jiqingyan (Laixi) International Investment and Industrial Park in Shandong Province and the headquarters base for vehicle manufacturing of Beijing Automobile Manufacturing Plant (Qingdao) Co., Ltd. was held in Laixi City, Qingdao on the 6th. A hundreds of billions of yuan automobile manufacturing full industrial chain, including R&D and testing, engine manufacturing, stamping, welding, painting, and final assembly, will be located here.
It is reported that the total planned investment for the Beijing Automobile Manufacturing Plant (Qingdao) Co., Ltd. vehicle manufacturing headquarters base industrial park project is 15 billion yuan (the same unit below). This project has become the first first-line brand vehicle full-qualification headquarters enterprise to settle in Qingdao, Shandong, filling the gap in Qingdao's vehicle headquarters enterprises.
According to the introduction, the total investment for the Beijing Automobile Manufacturing Plant headquarters and vehicle production base project is 11 billion yuan (7.7 billion yuan in the first phase), covering an area of 1,100 mu, with a construction area of 500,000 square meters. It is a full-qualification enterprise with traditional and new energy passenger vehicles, buses, special vehicles, and Class II military vehicles. The first phase has a designed production capacity of 50,000 commercial vehicles (including new energy vehicles), the second phase has a designed production capacity of 100,000 commercial vehicles (including new energy vehicles) and 50,000 passenger vehicles (including new energy vehicles), and the third phase has a designed production capacity of 150,000 commercial vehicles (including new energy vehicles) and 100,000 passenger vehicles (including new energy vehicles).

The base project mainly constructs five major production workshops: stamping workshop, welding workshop, painting workshop, final assembly workshop, and military vehicle modification workshop, as well as supporting facilities such as a test track, R&D technology building, logistics center, body three-dimensional warehouse, quality center, and office building. Construction will begin in July 2020, and it is expected to be completed and put into production in the second half of 2021. By 2025, it will be able to achieve a cumulative operating income of 48 billion yuan and tax revenue of 2.9 billion yuan.
It is understood that Beijing Automobile Manufacturing Plant is the second large-scale automobile manufacturing enterprise built in China after FAW in Changchun. The Beijing-brand 212 off-road vehicle and Warrior off-road vehicle produced have been widely equipped in the military and used for civilian purposes, and are national treasure brands and enterprises. BAIC Manufacturing and BAIC Group are two equally matched automobile industry enterprises.
In addition to the Beijing Automobile Manufacturing Plant headquarters and vehicle production base project, the Beijing Automobile Manufacturing Plant (Qingdao) Co., Ltd. vehicle manufacturing headquarters base industrial park also includes a 200-mu production base, a 500 million yuan BAIC Wuling Liuji 700,000-set engine production project, and a 600-mu project, a 3.5 billion yuan first-phase parts industrial park project.
