On June 26, the Great Wall Motor Co., Ltd.'s vehicle and parts production base project officially signed and settled in the Shangrao Economic and Technological Development Zone. Vice Governor of Jiangxi Province, Ren Zhufeng; Shangrao Municipal Party Secretary, Shi Wenbin; Municipal Party Committee Vice Secretary and Mayor, Chen Yun; Chairman of Great Wall Holdings Group, Wei Jianjun; Chairman of Great Wall Industry Co., Ltd., Hao Jianjun; and relevant leaders from the Jiangxi Provincial Development and Reform Commission, Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, Ministry of Finance, Shangrao City, and Shangrao Economic Development Zone attended the signing ceremony.
At the signing ceremony, Hao Jianjun stated: "The Shangrao vehicle production base project will be built into a comprehensive base project with vehicle manufacturing as its core, key components as supporting facilities, and related industries as services. Through future development, a high-quality automotive industry cluster will be built in Shangrao, driving industrial transformation and upgrading, and gathering new impetus for Shangrao's development."
Great Wall Motors is a leading domestic automaker, with five brands under its umbrella: Haval, WEY, Great Wall Pickup, Euler, and Tank. Among them, Haval SUVs have been bestsellers for many years, and Great Wall Pickup has ranked first in national sales for 23 consecutive years; currently, it has formed a technology ecosystem integrating "autonomous driving, intelligent cockpit, efficient fuel, and new energy." With the signing and settlement, Great Wall Motors regards the Shangrao Economic Development Zone as an important strategic fulcrum for its presence in East China, radiating South China and Central China regions. It will strive to build a low-carbon, environmentally friendly, well-planned, smoothly-flowing logistics, and intelligent and modern automobile production base, forming a production capacity of 120,000 SUVs per year, while simultaneously investing in and constructing supporting projects such as interior and exterior trim, seats, chassis, and 150,000 engines per year.
The settlement of this automotive giant in Shangrao benefits from the scientific planning and high-level promotion of the Shangrao Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government, and the accurate judgment and scientific positioning of the Shangrao Economic Development Zone. By revitalizing the existing vehicle production capacity of Shangrao Hanteng Automobile (Phase II), it helps the development and growth of Shangrao's automobile industry. As Great Wall's vehicle project in Jiangxi, the Shangrao base will mainly produce Haval brand SUV models. Great Wall will place its core, mature, and best-selling models in the Shangrao Economic Development Zone, and simultaneously invest in and introduce a series of supporting parts projects, which can further improve Shangrao's vehicle product portfolio and expand the Shangrao automotive industry cluster.
The Shangrao Economic Development Zone's convenient location advantages, precise industrial positioning, and excellent business environment have attracted this automotive giant, Great Wall, to quickly settle here.
