Warmly celebrate Meirun Rubber and Plastics' partnership with South China University of Technology to jointly establish a teaching and internship base

On January 17, 2022, a ceremony celebrating the establishment of a joint teaching and internship base between South China University of Technology (SCUT) and Foshan Meirun Rubber and Plastics Technology Development Co., Ltd. (a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hop Hing Group) was grandly held in front of the office building of Meirun Rubber and Plastics. This marks the official commencement of technical research and development and teaching practice cooperation between the two parties.

Attendees at the celebration ceremony included Professor Chen from the School of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering, SCUT; Mr. Xie Xiaodong, Executive Chairman of Guangdong Hop Hing Building Hardware Group; Mr. Xu Yunwang, General Manager of Foshan Meirun Rubber and Plastics Technology Development Co., Ltd., and representatives of senior management. Together, they witnessed this important moment of the official establishment of the joint teaching and internship base between SCUT and Meirun.

At the celebration ceremony, Mr. Xie Xiaodong, Executive Chairman of Hop Hing Group, delivered a speech on behalf of the company. He first expressed gratitude to SCUT for its trust and support of Meirun Rubber and Plastics, and stated that the rubber industry has a wide coverage and a promising future. The School of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering at SCUT is one of the first institutions in China authorized to grant master's and doctoral degrees and establish postdoctoral research stations. This cooperation between the two parties holds profound significance for both Meirun and the School of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering at SCUT; it is both an urgent task and a long-term plan. The School of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering at SCUT can better leverage its talent and technological advantages, while Meirun can better leverage its resource and market advantages. With the participation of SCUT students and SCUT's research support, it is believed that this will bring new development opportunities and vitality to Meirun, and Meirun's achievements will provide fertile ground for SCUT's research applications.

Professor Chen from the School of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering, SCUT, delivered a speech. Professor Chen mentioned that Meirun Rubber and Plastics has a 40-year history and has contributed to the development of the social economy. SCUT is one of the earliest institutions in China to establish materials and chemical engineering programs. SCUT is known as the "cradle of entrepreneurs and engineers." He believes that through this cooperation, more practical opportunities can be provided to SCUT students, and project exchanges between the two parties will also better promote the enterprise. He hopes that both parties can achieve better development through this cooperation.

The establishment of this joint teaching and internship base marks the beginning of Meirun and SCUT's collaboration in talent cultivation and enhancing research capabilities. Meirun will use this as an opportunity to further deepen its industry-academia-research cooperation with SCUT, promoting the depth and breadth of their collaboration and maximizing the role of the internship base. Next, the two parties will carry out technical research and development cooperation, joint cultivation of graduate students, and jointly cultivate high-level applied talents in the fields of innovative thinking in polymer materials design, synthesis, modification, and processing technology development.
